Review Policies & Procedures

Frequently a review, or audit, of an organisation's human resource policies and procedures will uncover areas that need to be addressed to minimise potential problems.    Usually this process starts with a meeting with the person who has primary responsibility for human resource. The initial meeting may focus on questions or areas of concern specific to the organisation and broaden into other topics or issues.

A formal review can include all written policies, procedures and a walk through to be certain that required posters are up, etc.      A confidential report would include recommendations for additional policies or changes to existing policies to accomplish the organisation's goals or to respond to a legal requirement.

Most organisations struggle with correct award interpretation.      Similarly the definition of an employee as opposed to a contractor can be confusing.   We can also examine your superannuation, to ensure that you are not paying superannuation on exempt salaries and wages.

Employee Communication

Grievances & Sexual Harassment

Sexual harassment at work is more common than most employers realise. Often complaints go unreported until after an employee resigns and then complains to an outside, third party government agency like the Human Rights Commission. Sexual harassment can be overt or it can be subtle. Employers and employees need to be aware of what constitutes illegal sexual harassment.  The number of court cases and the size of the financial judgments is rising dramatically. The real cost of sexual harassment, in addition to court awards, is in human costs.
