Spam Filters

More and more users are using spam filters to to eliminate unwanted email.  Spam is broadly defined as unwanted and unrequested email.  As our newsletter is only sent by request, you may need to add a rule to your spam filter to ensure that it is not deleted or quarantined in error.

In addition to wasting people's time with unwanted e-mail, spam also eats up a lot of network bandwidth. Consequently, there are many organisations, as well as individuals, who have taken it upon themselves to fight spam with a variety of techniques.  These include comprehensive and sometimes ineffective email filters, that try and identify key phrases or terms that are common to spam emails.  Sometimes these phrases are too general, which results in non spam email being deleted.   (The default rules for McAfee SpamKiller would eliminate a significant amount of non spam email.)

To mark our email as friendly, and to ensure it is not deleted, follow the appropriate instructions below.

Network Based Spam Filters (E.g. - Mailsweeper or MailMarshal)

If your email address is a work address, the chances are you will not be able to change your spam filters yourself.    You may need to ask your IT department to make the appropriate changes on your behalf.

We suggest you send an email to your IT department, asking them to 'please create an email filtering rule that lets through email from the easyhr.com.au domain.'

It may also help to explain that you have voluntarily subscribed to our free Human Resources and OHS newsletter, and that mail from that address will be work related only.
