Workplace Health and Safety Representative Bridging Course (HSR Bridging Course / HSR Gap Training)

This HSR bridging course is for Health and Safety Representatives (HSR) who have completed the 4 day OHS Consultation course. HSRs must complete this 1 day course before they are able to exercise the complete range of duties that they have under the NSW Workplace Health and Safety Act 2011. This 1 day HSR bridging (or gap course) course is designed to provide students with updated and current information about the Workplace Health and Safety Legislation, as well as an understanding of their roles and responsibilities under the NSW Workplace Health and Safety Act 2011. The HSR bridging course (or HSR gap training course) aims to familiarise participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfil their role as Health and Safety Representatives. A HSR who has undertaken this HSR bridging training will be deemed to have undergone the initial training prescribed by the Workplace Health and Safety Regulations 2011.

This HSR bridging course is approved by Workcover NSW.

• Session 2 - Consultation, Participation and Representation
• Session 3 - Issue resolution and support for HSRs
• Session 4 - Managing Risks and Notifyable Incidents
• Session 5 - Provisional Improvement Notices (PINs) and ceasing unsafe work

Who Should Attend:

• All new OH&S workplace committee members who have attended the 4 day OHS Consultation Training Course.
• All new OH&S representatives who have attended the 4 day OHS Consultation Training Course.
• Any Health & Safety Representative (HSR) that has completed the 4 day OHS Consultation Training Course.

Certification:

Successful participants will receive a certificate of completion.

Course Notes:

All participants receive notes and handouts that can be used as reference after the course.

Participant Identification :

* All participants must provide suitable photo ID. Documents must be original.
* Identification must be issued by a Government Department or a Financial Institution.
* All participants must provide evidence that they have completed the 4 Day OHS Consultation Course.
* It is a Workcover NSW requirement that the above requirements must be met at the commencement of the course.

* Examples of suitable photo ID includes but is not limited to: Drivers License, Passport, RTA Photo Identity Card (formerly proof of age card)
